The Long March 5B Y2, also known as the Wenchang Satellite Launch Center (WSLC), is a new generation of large solid-fuel rockets developed by China. It was launched from the Wenchungu Spaceport in Hainan Island on April 23, 2021.
The rocket has a payload capacity of over 25 tons to low Earth orbit and can carry multiple satellites or even complete spacecraft into orbit. This makes it capable of supporting future missions such as deep space exploration and manned lunar landing projects.
The Long March 5Y2 rocket is part of China's ambitious space program which includes plans for a permanent space station by the end of 2022. The successful launch of this rocket demonstrates China's growing capabilities in space technology and its commitment to advancing its space exploration efforts.
